What's New

I didn't mean to abandon this blog. The site meter indicated " - " for the average number of visitors to this page. I am guessing the few, very few people who used to stop by this page have left, since I never updated it.

What's new:

1. I have been teaching Bahasa Indonesia and have two new students. I enjoy reconnecting to my native language in this form, and I have been thinking about organizing "An Indonesian Literature Night." Prior to the meeting, people will have read one or two texts of Indonesian literature (poetry, short story, etc.), and then we discuss this during the session. It will be a donation-based event ($5-10/person) and most likely at a cafe somewhere in the Mission district.

If you are interested in attending, please leave a comment on this blog entry.

2. I participated in a project: "I Live Here: SF"
I found out about this project from a San Francisco Chronicle article

I think I decided to participate in this project because I want to document my life in San Francisco in a more formal way. I want to acknowledge and honor this city that I never thought I would live in when I was 5 or 10 or even 15 years old.

Also, there is something exciting about being taken pictures of by a person one has never met before.

3. I turned twenty nine last month. On my birthday I shared a burrito at a favorite taqueria, went to the MOMA for Richard Avedon's exhibit, and for dinner had clean food - udon soup with vegetables. Also, K bought me a print of a horse on a thin but hard wood at a thrift store.

Until next time.
Say hello so I know you're out there and you're OK.
